In 1873 Union Cemetery was laid out as a final resting place for local Civil War Veterans and their families. As time went on and ownership changed many times, the cemetery fell into disrepair. In recent years many community groups have come together to restore the cemetery to it's present condition. The Milford Parks and Recreation Department is currently maintaining it.
