Geocache Description:

A cache placed to point out the work of the Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation.

Our Mission

To preserve and maintain the historic Berks County graveyards.

A historic burial place is a tract of land that has been in existence as a burial ground for more than 100 years. Wherein there have been no burials for at least
50 years and wherin there will be no future burials.

Research supports the existence of over 300 historic graveyards in berks Co. Of these approximately 120 remain with some sort of visible surface evidence.

This is one that I have adopted and take care of. In the past year the group has paid to have the wall re-pointed and the tree pushing the wall in removed. In addition we are trying to put the broken tombstones, that have been vandalized, back together. No need to search in the graveyard. You are welcome to go in, but please do not touch any of tombstones.
