WTL Series: #5 Odonata anisoptera Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

J.A.R.S.: It went missing twice in a row. Someone may be determined to collect this particular box. It's had a good run. Archiving it opens up the area for a future cache or letterbox. :)

the trail off of watson roadWatson Trail Letterbox Series includes:

#1: Castor canadensis
#2: Halie's meadow
#3: Tabanidae chrysops
#4: Inukshuk
#5: Odonata anisoptera

This is a letterbox, there are no trade items.

I have placed my custom stamp in it plus an ink pad but bring your own ink just in case mine runs dry (Crayola washable markers make great ink tools if you don't have an ink pad). If you have a stamp, please stamp the log book. If you do not have a stamp, leave a drawing ( stick figure drawings and happy faces would be just fine you do not have to be a Picasso or a Da Vinci), or a sticker or a fingerprint or pawprint, or try a nature print using a leaf or flower as a nature stamp, and sign the log. Stamps are really cheap at Michael's and similar places, try Staples for an office stamp or make your own with an eraser and an exacto knife. Join the fun!

Collect letterbox stamp images: use my stamp (i.e. the letterbox's stamp) to stamp into your personal journal/log book.

Please, don't take my stamp!

Odonata anisoptera

(If you do this one first and the series in reverse order you will steadily be going uphill for a couple of kilometres. I found it was an easier hike to do the series in order.)

Letterboxing-style directions:

A map of the trail with the LBs marked is available via the WTL Castor Canadensis page.

Time is based on a leisurely walk of about 4 km/hr.

From Inukshuk the trail descends gently and loops back to the trailhead.

Approximately 5 min 250 metres from Inukshuk you'll be passing through a meadow with a view of the trees and valley. Should be nice in the fall.

Approximately 19 minutes and 1.7km from Inukshuk
You have arrived at the Odonata LB. You'll be standing on the trail with a white pine within arms reach on your right and a cedar tree within arms reach on your left. The white pine has a robin's egg blue blaze on it. The cedar tree has a boulder at the foot of its trunk. The small lock n lock LB is in the cedar tree. Lower branches. Note how it is hidden and place it back so the sticks hide it from view. Thanks.

Continue along the trail for another minute/143metres. It will meet up with the trail that will take you back to the trailhead 3min/200m.
