Broad Chalke 12 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

37251: I have removed all the containers in this series today. This series has now been archived after being active for over 12 years.

People don't seem to want to find only 10 caches on such a long walk these days, with plenty of power trails in this area being more popular for the modern Geocacher.

I set this series as I enjoy long walks with far reaching views, nice tracks, plenty of wildlife and a pub at the end. This loop had it all!

Thanks for all the lovely logs on these caches. I enjoy reading them and like to know about people's experiences on this series.

Geocache Description:

8.5 mile circular walk around exposed byways and bridleways above Broad Chalke. No gates or stiles will be encountered. A steady climb up a hill to start with, then a level section, followed by a descent back to the start. The terrain rating reflects the whole walk. Allow between 3.5 and 4.5 hours to complete it.

Suggested starting point for this series of 12 caches is at the church in Broad Chalke, where ample roadside parking is available.

A small container and the last in this series. I've made this one a bit tricky, but there's an easy way to get to it...

After you've found it, continue down the footpath and through Chalk Pyt Farm to lead you back into the village. Just before you reach your car, there's a pub (Queen's Head Inn), where you can enjoy a well earned pint or maybe some food if you arrive during opening hours (which are not 'all day').

Thank you for doing my series and I hope you enjoyed it.
