Odaiba, old sea-fort of Tokyo Bay, is now famous shoping and
amusement area.
Odaiba means island(s) that cannons were puting on.
Sinse 1633, Japan was under self-imposed isolation from the rest of
the world.
But in 1853, American commander, Matthew Calbraith Perry, came to
Japan so as to "opening up" of Japan.
Goverment surprised and decided to put cannons on the islands as
emergency measures.
That is the begining of Odaiba.
Now, all cannons were removed and many of shopping stores,
amusement spots are established.
The cache is putting on the seaside park. You can find famous
statue near the point.
Sorry inconvinient but there is no pen inside it.

かつて東京湾の守りを固めていた「お台場」はいまや有名なショッピングとアミューズメントの街となっています。
「お台場」とは、かつて砲台が設置されていた島々を表す言葉でした。
日本は1633年から鎖国政策をとっておりましたが、1853年、アメリカの提督ペリーがやってきたことでその平穏な眠りは破られてしまいました。
幕府はこの突然の来訪者に慌てふためき、急遽東京湾に砲台を設置し、その急に備えようとしたのです。これが「お台場」の始まりです。
いまではその面影もなく、大砲の代わりに多くのショッピングモールやアミューズメントスポットができ、いつも人々でにぎわっております。
キャッシュは海浜公園の中のとても有名な像のそばにあります。
あいにくキャッシュに書くものは入ってないので、どうかペンをお持ちください。
