This cache is located within the historical Charlestown Navy Yard. Saunter along the tree-lined 2nd Avenue pedestrian walkway for a trip back in time and imagine the enourmous efforts that went into the building, repair, and outfitting of US naval vessels here from 1800 to 1974.
More recently, the large building on the eastern end of the walkway (149 13th St), is where researchers were instrumental in the development of functional magnetic resonance imaging - essentially introducing this technique to the world!
We placed this cache here so that you could appreciate the history of the Charlestown Navy Yard as much as we do!
