Geocache Description:

Please contact me if you would like to adopt this cache! This historical tour includes visits to four Ohio Historical Markers in Bellefontaine, Ohio (Logan County). =============== Thank you to Parsonhunter who moved the cache a bit due to the original final location being under renovation!!!! The final clue has been updated accordingly. (8/10/2007) =============== ------------------- Stop 1: ------------------- The first stop on your tour is the Ohio Historical Marker at the initial posted coordinates. According to the Marker: A = In what year was concrete first used? B = When was this marker erected? You may also want to visit the Shortest Street in America at coordinates: N 40, 21.694 W 83, 45.481. C = 20: The shortest street in America is about 20 feet in length. To calculate the coordinates of your next stop, use this equation with the answers to the questions at Stop 1 and the length of the shortest street: (A + C) – 1245 = X (B + C) – 1422 = Y Your next stop is at: N 40, 21.X W 83, 45.Y ------------------- Stop 2: ------------------- According to the Ohio Historical Marker at this location: D = In what year did Mr. Lawrence move to Bellefontaine? E = In what year was Mr. Lawrence born? F = In what year did Mr. Lawrence found the Bellefontaine National Bank? G = In what year did Mr. Lawrence die? To calculate the coordinates of your next stop, use this equation with the answers to the questions at Stop 2: (D + E) – 3003 = X (F + G) – 3230 = Y Your next stop is at: N 40, 21.X W 83, 45.Y ------------------- Stop 3: ------------------- According to the Ohio Historical Marker at this location: H = In what year did Mr. West help found the Republican party in Ohio? I = In what year was Mr. West born? J = In what year did Mr. West become an Ohio Supreme Court justice? K = In what year did Mr. West die? To calculate the coordinates of your next stop, use this equation with the answers to the questions at Stop 3: (H + I) – 3047 = X (J + K) – 3577 = Y While you are at Stop 3, you will need to collect the following information to be used in later calculations: L = In what year was the Logan County Courthouse built? see HINT #1 M = In what year was the Holland Theatre opened? see HINT #2 Your next stop is at: N 40, 20.X W 83, 46.Y ------------------- Stop 4: ------------------- According to the Ohio Historical Marker at this location: THE MARKER HAS BEEN REMOVED.
