Geocache Description:

Welcome to the home of one of Texas' earliest settlers, John P. Coles, and his family. This cabin, log house and schoolhouse are part of the Independence Historical Society. A few times a year the buildings are open to the public for free tours. Otherwise, storyboards inform the public of the historic nature of this site.

This cache is placed with permission of the historical society. The finding of the cache will require some stealth during the busy spring flower season (March & April), and during tours. PLEASE be respectful of the property and return the cache as you found it.
