1/1/10 Update: The Station Fire has changed everything in the
forest. What once was, is no longer. This cache will remain a
puzzle cache and the posted coordinates is where the cache can be
found.
I set out on 2/29/04 to place a cache to
celebrate Leap Day, the once-every-four-years event when we
have a 29th of February on the calendar. While searching for
a location, I found a site where the exact date appears, not as a
date per se, but a series of numbers that appear in date order:
2 29 04.
Your hunt will take you to Angeles Crest
Highway, a few short miles above La Canada-Flintridge. Your mission
is to find the object with the numbers in the date on it and then
locate the nearby cache container.
Parking is nearby and it is not
necessary to enter or cross the highway to retrieve the cache
container.
As always, be on the lookout for muggles.
Don't let them see you removing or replacing the cache.
