There is a marked path down to the falls through
the forest– the day we set the cache we were amazed to see a
group of five foreigners, including a young chap in a
wheelchair, making their way along ahead of us – this path is
not wheelchair accessible! – but where there’s a will
there’s a way, and the group made sure he got all the way to
the viewing area at the end, at times lowering the wheelchair down
the slope with ropes – amazing!
This waterfall drops over 100 feet. Divach Lodge
sits just above the falls, and was the Edwardian retreat of author
J M Barrie(Peter Pan) and actress Dame Ellen Terry. There is a
painting of the falls by the artist John Phillips which hangs in
Buckingham Palace.
