Nel pieno centro di Pistoia si erge il residuo di una delle più antiche torri di origine medievale annesse ai palazzi signorili.
Restaurata nel 1939 è la parte inferiore della torre detta di "Vanni Fucci" perché nelle vicinanze si trovava la casa dei Lazzari, alla cui famiglia Vanni, il ladro ricordato da Dante nel canto XXIV dell'Inferno, apparteneva come figlio illegittimo. Il peccato di cui si macchiò Vanni Fucci è la simonia: rubò infatti degli arredi sacri custoditi nella cattedrale di Pistoia.

In the center of Pistoia stands the remnant of one of the oldest towers of medieval origin attached to the palaces.
Restored in 1939 is the bottom of the tower called of "Vanni Fucci" because nearby was the home of Lazzari, whose family Vanni, the thief mentioned by Dante in Canto XXIV Hell, belonged as illegitimate child. The sin which stained Vanni Fucci is simony: stole fact of church utensils kept in the Cathedral of Pistoia.
