Geocache Description:

Team_Spada and Bearded Beast take part every Monday in US Geocaching Hour, a one hour tweet chat on Twitter that revolves around Geocaching.  The basic format of #USGeocachingHour is a host (or hosts) ask a series of questions and people who follow the page answer the questions.  This leads to many threads of people telling interesting caching stories, sharing tips and pictures, and networking across the country (and sometimes internationally).  It is held every Monday from 9-10 Eastern Time.  Participants end all of their tweets with the hashtag #USGeocachingHour so that people can follow along with the hundreds of tweets.

We have met some great cachers through this and have even had a chance to meet one of them at the Berkshire Geobash last year (and will meet Gslink at his event in Franklin August 4th).

We will be hosting the July 30th edition of US Geocaching Hour (our second time hosting!) and each time we have had the chance to host, we have tried to bring something new to the table.  The first time we crammed in 20 questions in the hour when there are normally around 8.  This led to a rapid-fire hour of questions and answers.  This time, we would like to take US Geocaching Hour live and bring it to people who don't normally take part or have never used Twitter before.  We are hosting this event and are hoping to get some of our fellow participants across the country to host a similar event at the same time.

For this event, we will be hosting at the Burger King on Newport Ave in Rumford from 8:30 PM - 10 PM.  Our goal is to get local cachers to take part and also to get some interesting questions for our chat.  We picked this location because it has reliable, free public WiFi.

From 8:30-9 we will be helping anyone who wants to take part get set up to tweet.  If you don't have a Twitter account, we will help you set one up.  Feel free to bring whatever device you prefer, mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.

From 9-10 the tweet chat itself will run, and we will be using questions that you send us ahead of time!

Now here is where you can help us:  We need questions!

An example of some questions that we have seen before include "What is your most memorable caching experience?", "What was the best piece of swag you have ever found?", "Have you ever had a run in with law enforcement while caching?"

We would love it if you could put some questions in your Will Attend log or a note if you aren't attending or aren't sure you can attend (We need the questions ahead of time because we will have them loaded up and programmed to be sent at specific times).

Basically any question that you think would be interesting to have several dozen people from across the country answer is fair game!

Note:  Of course participation in the tweet chat is not required for you to attend this event.  We will still be trading trackables, talking about local caches, and meeting with our fellow cachers as we do at all RIGA events.  It might just be fun to sit back and watch the thumbs fly!  In addition, no purchase from the restaurant is necessary.
