Geocache Description:

Collect the clue for the final!

This is a day-time only cache.

If you are here at the right time of the year, you will see whole families spead out amongst the neat rows of berries. Mom and Dad are busy picking, while the kids divide their time between picking and eating. The farmer acquires little strawberry plants from a commercial nursery in western Ontario. After planting them in the spring, they are then weeded and watered, as necessary. It is not until the next year that they bear their first crop. Each fall a heavy layer of straw is placed over the berries to protect them throughout the winter. This layer must then be removed in the spring. Rows of pipes (irrigation) are amongst the berry rows, and if the weather is too dry, water can be piped into these pipes, which in turn wter the berries.
