It's not the Okotoks Big Rock, but it is biggish in these sand hills. We hope that you brought a lunch, and some water, and can take a break. A porcupine has been known to hang around here.
Long pants are strongly recommended. Wild roses, snowberry, wolf willow and other short prickly plants like growing in the sand hills. Wildflowers are plentiful.
Cattle will be grazing in this community pasture during some seasons. Please respect and be aware of them. Usually, they will move off and herd together when they see you.
The Middle Sand Hills are a shrubby area, with sand dunes, cattle, and occasionally moose. Highway 41 cuts across them, providing an abrupt change in scenery from the fields and grasslands. This cache is located in a community pasture. Foot access is allowed, giving us opportunities to explore this unusual area.
