Geocache Description:

Offset - The above coords take you to a secondary trail. Use the directions below to get to the letterbox.

Parking and the trail head: N43 32.927 W80 11.009

Popular with dog walkers, joggers, hikers and bikers. The trail follows the Eramosa river then loops back to meet up with itself near the trail head. Total hike 5 km.

Parking and the trail head are on Watson Road about 600 metres south of Stone Road (1.8km north of Arkell Road) on the east side of the road.

Bring water, especially on hot, humid days. Wear bug spray in the summer months.

BYOI - bring your own ink No stamp pad or crayola marker in this box.

Satellite coverage in the summer months is poor because of the overhanging trees along the main trail. It makes for a shady walk though. You will find a couple of spots before getting to Castor canadensis where you can stop to let your gps lock in a few satellites.

Look for a distinct secondary trail to the right that goes to the river. In the distance you'll see a tree that has fallen across the path as a result of Castor canadensis activity. Walk to the fallen tree (the tree is 20 paces from the river. Recently the other part of the tree has fallen over. It has fallen towards the river. Ignore it.). The tree has fallen in the general direction of the LB. Starting at the stump of the fallen tree, walk 12-13 paces a little to the left (255degrees, WSW). Look for a hollow stump at the base of a cedar/river birch mix.

Next letterbox: Halie's meadow

From the trailhead walk along the main trail (east).

3-4min 250m
Note the trail to the left (north). Don't take it, keep walking easterly along the main trail. This is the loop trail, the main trail loops back around to this point. I'm pointing it out because this is where you will come back after finishing the letterbox series.
