Hypocorism: The Heart of KAG
When I was
considering placing a cache for the K4 Event, I thought long and
hard about what makes Kingston special for me. Well after some
serious consideration and contemplation, the answer is simple
really. It's a gentleman named Hypocorism. He's been with the KAG
community since 2007 and has been a great supporter of geocaching,
not only in Kingston, but all over Eastern Ontario. He's always
willing to help a fellow cacher and has helped me
personally with several youth camps. He truly understands the
meaning of community and has gone to great lengths to see KAG
remain a force in Eastern Ontario caching.
His self deprecating demeanor and mild mannered behavior hide a
devilishly cunning cacher who has caused more than one cacher to
curse his name loudly (can you say AMIAT), yet for all this "evil",
he'd be the first person to help anyone with any cache problem and
always takes the time to write a thorough and well thought out (and
often very funny) logs.
I'd like to go as far to say that if Hypocorism wasn't the
staunch supporter of KAG that he is, that KAG as we know it
wouldn't exist and Kingston and area may be in bad shape. So when
you come to Kingston to cache, keep in mind that one individual in
particular is responsible in great part for the fun that you will
have. Now I know he will say this isn't true, but believe me
and those that know him will agree, Kingston caching never had
such a great friend as Hypo. He truly is "THE HEART OF KAG".
The cache you'll be seeking is a micro (matchstick holder), please
return it as found, unless or course it's laying on the ground. The
cache should be an easy, family friendly hide, I'm sure Hypo would
approve.
Please do not post any spoiler pics
or log descriptions please!
Also please do not seek, nor log this cache before 6:00 am on
November 5th, 2011 as it has been placed for the K4 Event.
As with all CZ caches, the idea here is to
have fun and be safe. I'd encourage you to do both here.
Cheers
