For over 15 years, Huell
Howser has been on Public Television taking viewers throughout
California in search of its riches, its natural beauty and its
history. Over the years he's done various shows, including
California's Gold, Visiting with Huell Howser, and Road Trip, but
their styles are similar and all contain the same Huell Howser
charm. As is often the case with geocaching, Huell Howser takes his
viewers to places that they never even knew existed, often right in
their own backyard!
To log this cache, you must visit a location that has been the
subject of a Huell Howser show. A list of shows can be found at
www.calgold.com
Your log must contain the coordinates, at least one photo
containing your GPS (and hopefully you!), and something in the
photo (such as a sign) that makes it obvious you are at the visited
site. Additionally, you must include the episode name and episode
number (available at the website)
Each location can only be logged once, one log per cacher. If a
show contained more than one location, it's possible that it could
qualify for more than one log (but not by the same cacher). We will
be the judge if additional logs qualify as finds.
Effective Feb 9, 2004: As a clarification, if an episode
contains more than one featured event or location, such as the
Glass Beach and Agate Beach episode, this could count as two
different finds. Episode 908 is about See's Candy. Even though he
is in two different cities, it is still about See's Candy. This
would count as one find by one finder.
The following items are required to log your find:
1. Picture of location/sign AND your GPSr. It would be nice to
have, you too, but not required.
2. Coordinates of location or sign.
3. The show number and name as part of your
description.
Now have fun in your search for California's
Gold!
