Geocache Description:

A nice piece of art work by a local artist, requalifying this urban area. The fresco is realized by OZMO (Gionata Gesi).

"Ritratto di Galileo Galilei" ("Portait of Galileo Galilei") by Ozmo, is the fifth and latest creation, in order of time, of the public art festival "Welcome to Pisa" held in September 2017.

Ozmo, Pisan artist, completed this mural on the external wall of a private building, located in via Conte Fazio. What makes this fifth realization unique is the subject. An iconographic work dedicated to the Pisan scientist and astronomer Galileo Galilei. A great profile of the master is framed below by the instruments used for the study of the sky, among which the telescope perfected by the scientist. From the profile, moreover, emerge the night sky and the planets that Galileo has observed for many years, together with his principal discoveries (i.e. the four biggest Jupiter satellites, phases of the moon). The mural is a sort of medal - symbol of the city of Pisa and of its history as a pole for the study of science.
