San Juan Island EMS is a county agency providing emergency 9-1-1 advanced life support rescue and transport to the residents and visitors of the Town of Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, and the outer islands of Brown, Henry, Pearl, Speiden, Johns, and Stuart. SJI EMS also responds to calls on the waterways and other non-ferry served islands of the county through a mutual aid contract with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. The SJI EMS moved into this building in 2012, with the opening of Peace Island Medical Center, to which it is adjacent.
The former SJI EMS chief was an avid geocacher along with his son, and they hosted the first annual San Juan Island Geocaching Adventure in 2011. A previous cache in this location was unactivated when they moved off-island. This cache is an easy to find ammo can next to the San Juan Island EMS building. Please be respectful of this property and the critical, life-saving work of these professionals. Park along the road just north/west of the cache, then walk in by the picnic tables.
