Constructed in 1958, the Piarere Hall was built for local use by those in the Waipa, South Waikato and Matamata-Piako districts. The halls facilities include oven, sink, zip, cutlery, crockery, tables, trestles and chairs. The piano and stage has seen many celebrations and events - including bowling, dancing, 21st birthdays, weddings and cabarets - and the hall has also hosted many Young Farmers' Club, Federated Farmers and garden circle gatherings. A committee of 12 has maintained the hall over the years, renovating with a new roof, floors, kitchen and a side room was added about 18 years ago. The hall is suitable for a maximum of 100 people and the sealed and grass parking areas are popular resting places for drivers. Self-contained vans can park over night but it's best to park on the grassed area and even so, it's likely to be a bit noisy.
This cache is best found heading West (toward the Kaimai Ranges) although there is plenty of off street parking and can be accessed safely from either direction. However it is advisable to take extra care especially with children as there is fast-moving traffic nearby. BYOP.
