EDINBURGH - Geology
This is a challenge cache so the cache is at the published coordinates. In order to log a find, you must demonstrate that you have completed one of the tasks below, and sign the cache log book. You are welcome to include any type of caches that you have found at any time. Enjoy the walk along the canal as well as the one through your logs and choose your most memorable ones. Geology
Edinburgh owes its location to the geology of the Castle Rock and is the birthplace of James Hutton, founder of modern geology. The British Geological survey has offices near King's Buildings in the south of Edinburgh, and there are many earthcaches in the area. How does your caching reflect the geology of Edinburgh? To log a find on this cache sign the cache log, fulfil at least one of these tasks, and demonstrate it in your log.
- Earthcaches Find at least 20 earthcaches. At least one of these should be within the City of Edinburgh.
- Seven Hills Edinburgh is described as being built on seven hills. Find at least one cache on each of the seven hills - Castle Rock, Arthur's Seat, Blackford Hill, Braid Hills, East or West Craiglockhart Hill, Corstorphine Hill, Calton Hill. Please list your qualifying caches in your log. All cache types are welcome. Please note that it is the FINAL location that qualifies, not the initial one, in multis and puzzle caches.
- Elevation Find 5 caches above 3000 feet (914m). Please list your qualifying caches and their elevations in your log.
