Geocache Description:

Welcome to my first cache! Since it's a puzzle, the published coordinates aren't the real coordinates. Please don't go there looking - you may end up in somebody's back yard!

Last summer, we lost our dog, Lucky.

Mom and dad put up a memorial cache for him in a nice area.

We were sad for a while, and then decided that the best thing for our family was to get another dog.

But we were going to do it differently, this time. We were going to get a puppy. A little dog we could raise up from a very young age, who would fit into our family dynamic from day one.

The search turned out to be harder than we thought.

What kind of dog should we get?

There are all sorts of breeds out there. What kind would be the best for us?

St. Bernard's seemed like too big of a breed for us, even if they do make insanely cute puppies..

We kept looking.

What about labs? Maybe... They also get kinda big.

It was very confusing picking out which breed. Some breeds we had a hard time deciding what they were, especially when they were puppies. Are these shar peis? I don't know how to tell!

These little guys were awfully cute. This really was going to be a tough call.

Whoa! Too many! We would have felt bad breaking this family up, but only had room for one puppy.

We looked at all kinds of breeds. Big dogs, small dogs, hairy dogs, bald dogs. So many cute puppies to chose from!

The time came when we had to stop just looking around and make a decision.

Mom and dad did some more research on what type of breed fit best with our family, and we think we arrived at the perfect solution:

Holden really has turned out to be the perfect puppy for us!

He is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He is short and long, and has very short, stubby legs. They were bred this way so that when a cow kicked, it would go over their heads without hurting them. Corgis are herding dogs. Sometimes, when we're out walking together, he tries to herd us kids!

We love Holden, and he has become a member of our family.

Oh, and my nerd dad says to tell everyone that "Holden hates phonies" - whatever that means.

Cache Lottery

This cache has a prize, but it's not the standard FTF prize. I am using my dad's Cache Lottery system. The first ten finders will get their name put into a hat. My little brother will draw the winner. That person will receive a piece of GeoGold.

Thanks for playing!

You can verify your coordinates if you like.

Parent's note: Since shadow clone is a minor, please send any inquiries to nelson crew, shadow clone's mom and dad. Thanks!
