This cache is placed in memory of my friend, Sean Ryan (1972-1995). Sean was working as a park ranger in Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State when he fell to his death while attempting to rescue an injured hiker.
The cache is located at Sean Hunter Ryan Memorial Park in South Nyack, NY. The park is open sunrise to sunset. The trail is part of the Long Path -- the turquiose blazes will take you pretty close to the hiding place. Parking is allowed on the street near the trailhead (N41 05.165 W73 55.982), but the road is narrow and there is only room for two cars to park safely.
There is also a parking lot about 50 feet east. The lot belongs to a school and is usually empty on weekends.
After the cache disappeared, I replaced and restocked it with some Mount Rainier postcards and memorabilia.
Also included are some geoacaching.com logo items and a few toys.
