#9 in the series is "Taking a Hike". The cache is placed to represent the ninth part of the Girl Scout Law ... "Make the World a Better Place". It is located in Coonskin Park to remind people to respect nature and take care of our world.
There are so many things a person could do to make the world a better place! One of the things that is great about geocaching is the principal of Cache In / Trash Out. Our troop has picked up a lot of trash! At a local park and grab, one of our scouts just started cleaning up and filled up two entire trash bags that were in the back of her family's car within 15 minutes. Can you imagine how great it would be if everyone would take a few minutes out of their busy schedule just to clean up a few pieces of litter?
In your log, feel free to post a way to "Make the World a Better Place".
Once in Coonskin, you can park in the parking area for the playground and take the trail to the cache or you can park in the lot for the Riverside Pavillion if it is open.
In letterboxing, you are supposed to use clues to help find the letterbox. If you have any questions about letterboxing and how it differs from geocaching, feel free to contact us. Letterboxing is a Brownie badge so we are trying to get more letterboxes in the area for local Brownies to find. Our clues will be simple so everyone can figure them out and the area Brownies can easily earn their badges.
