Geocache Description:

Come join us and help clean up the shorelines of the Evans Pond and Golf Course Pond.

Background:

These two fishing areas are heavily used by families that enjoy the ease of access to the ponds. In the past, children and some of us older folks who recreate here, are often getting tangled up in fishing line and often winding up with bangs and bruises because of it. Due to the amount of
visitors to the ponds, garbage has found its way into all areas of the shorelines.

We can help by:

* removing tripping hazards e.g., fishing line
* removing general debris e.g., garbage
* removing organic debris e.g., broken off limbs and vegetation that can be done without the use of power tools.

Plan:

We will meet at Evans Pond at 10am and work there for an hour, then move to the Golf Course Pond (46.414864  -117.087729) and work there for an hour.

The Corp of Engineers will provide the trash bags and it is highly recommended that you bring gloves to protect your hands. If you have access to a reacher/grabber tool, that may prove to be very useful.

At the end of the event (around noon) we will meet by the dock at the Golf Course Pond for a picture.

NOTE: this is my first attempt at doing this sort of thing, I know these areas need attention and I know a group of like minded people coming together to do a project, makes the work turn into a fun time  better type of work.
