This cache is placed near the true summit for Pigeon Mountain. The true summit is slightly higher than the SE summit and is marked by a small cairn. The long but sure way in is described below, if someone knows of a direct route on reasonable trails, please let me know.
Park at N 51 01.622 W 115 14.863 which is about 1.5 km south of the TCH after maneuvering through the hamlet of Deadman Flats.
Take the Skogan Pass trail (follows the power lines) to N 51 00.357 W 115 12.415. Turn hard left here (Altalink 86 sign) and road starts climbing.
At N 51 00.354 W 115 11.955 There is a well used hiking path that goes straight up about 250 meters to tree line. Continue climbing then take a long traverse which will bring you to the ridgeline, then trek NW. This portion of Pigeon Mountain is closed to people from Dec. 1 to June 15 as it is a mountain sheep wintering and lambing area.
Go find the cache. It is a small lock 'n lock container hidden under a pile of rocks.
