La Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti
La Scalinata, realizzata tra il 1723 e il 1726 su progetto dell’architetto romano Francesco De Sanctis (1693-1740), costituisce il raccordo scenografico tra le pendici del Pincio dominate dalla chiesa della SS. Trinità e la sottostante piazza di Spagna. La lunga scalinata, che sembra adagiarsi sul colle articolandosi in un continuo alternarsi di sporgenze e rientranze, è espressione di una monumentalità tipica del settecento romano che la accomuna alle altre importanti realizzazione urbane del secolo costituite dal porto di Ripetta (demolito alla fine del XIX secolo) e da fontana di Trevi. Sottoposta nel tempo a numerosi interventi di manutenzione, la scalinata è stata oggetto di un importante restauro completo nel 1995. Dall'ottobre 2015 la scalinata è stata sottoposta nuovamente a restauro; l’inaugurazione dopo i lavori si è svolta giovedì 22 settembre 2016. Dal 23 settembre 2016 la scalinata ridiviene normalmente percorribile.
Per loggare la cache ci sono due alternative. Quello preferibile è di completare le seguente attività che coinvolge una TB selezionata (Trackable o Geocoin): (L'alternativa senza TB/Geocoin si trova più giù)
1) Vai alle coordinate della cache e scatta una foto della TB (o un selfie dove tieni o indossi la TB) con La Scalinata come sfondo. Se non vuoi salire tutti scalini, si può anche scattare la foto dal waypoint indicato (giù) o in qualsiasi punto intermedio. Una parte riconoscibile della Scalinata deve essere presente nella foto. Bisogna ricordarsi di non includere il Codice Identificativo della TB se il TB / Geocoin non è tuo, mentre l'eventuale Codice Identificativo personale (come sulla maglietta) potrebbe far parte di un'immagine selfie.
2) Logga la cache includendo il Codice di Riferimento della TB (non il Codice Identificativo) e l'immagine della TB e/o selfie con la TB.
3) Logga (Visitare o meglio Depositare / Ricuperare) l'attuale TB / Geocoin nel TB Hotel Virtuale.
Per riassumere (l'alterna preferita): La log della cache deve contenere un Codice di Riferimento di una TB e un'immagine della TB che mostra La Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti e la TB deve avere un log di visitata (o deposito+ritiro) per il TB Hotel Virtuale.
Per questa alternativa non è richiesto alcun messaggio al proprietario e i log che non soddisfano i requisiti verranno eliminati.
Seconda alternativa (percorre la Scalinata):
a) Contare i buchi della grata metallica inserita nello scalino più giù a sinistra della Scalinata (alle coordinate dello step virtuale "The steps seen from downstairs").
b) Quale è il "numero civico" visibile sul muretto sotto il lampione a sinistra delle coordinate in cima alla Scalinata? Visto dalla Piazza della Trinità dei Monti
c) Manda entrambi numeri come messaggio (o email) al proprietario del cache.
The Spanish Steps
The imposing 135-step staircase was inaugurated by Pope Benedict XIII during the 1725 Jubilee. It was designed by Alessandro Specchi and Francesco De Sanctis after generations of long and glowing discussions about how to urbanize the steep slope on the side of the Pincian Hill in order to connect it to the church. The final key was the one proposed by Francesco De Sanctis: a great staircase decorated with many garden-terraces, splendidly adorned with flowers in spring and summer. The sumptuous, aristocratic staircase, at the summit of a straight sequence of streets leading down to the Tiber, was designed so that the scenic effects increase more and more while approaching to it. In effect, the creation of long, deep perspectives culminating in monumental wings or backdrops was typical of the great baroque architecture. The Spanish Steps were restored in 1995 and again in 2015-2016.
To log the cache you have to complete one of two alternative options.
First (preferred) option is to complete the following task involving a selected TB or a Geocoin:
1) Go to the cache coordinates and take a picture of the TB (or a selfie holding or wearing the TB) with the Spanish stairs as background. If you do not want to climb up all the steps you can take the picture from the indicated waypoint or anywhere in between. A recognizable part of the stairs must be present in the picture. Remember to not include the TB Tracking Number if the TB / Geocoin is not yours, while eventual personal Tracking Number (like T-shirt) may well be a part of evental selfie picture.
2) Post a log including the TB Reference Code (not Tracking Number) and the picture of the TB.
3) Log (Visit or better Drop Off/Retrieve) the actual TB/Geocoin in the Virtual TB Hotel.
To summarize first (preferred) log option: The log must contain a TB Reference Code and a picture of the TB showing the Spanish Steps and the TB must have a Visited (or Drop/Retreive) log for the Virtual TB Hotel.
No message to the owner is required and logs not meeting the requirements will be deleted.
Second alternative (Walk the stairs)
a) Count the holes in the metal grid inserted in the lower left step of the Stairs (at the coordinates of the virtual step "The steps seen from downstairs").
b) What is the "house number" visible on the wall under the lamppost to the left of the coordinates at the top of the Staircase? Seen from Piazza della Trinità dei Monti
c) Send both numbers as a message (or email) to the cache owner.
