Hey diddle, diddle -- a cat(?) but no fiddle,
just a couple of “mammals“, and a box.
One leads to another, don't stop in the middle...
Just trot down that path like a Fox.
One of the most beautiful parks in Northern Virginia, with
pathways that will lead you through old growth forest, meadows, and
emergent wetlands. The Potomac River is often in view, and wildlife
abounds: Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Red Fox, countless Squirrels, and
songbirds galore inhabit this woodland.
This is a 3 Stage Multi-Cache. The first stage is completely
hidden from view and contains only the coordinates for the second
stage. I’ve used a familiar container style for the first stage,
but this one is...well, it’s different...don’t be scared!! The
second stage is traditional hide, not in plain sight, but not
“tricky“ either. It contains only the coordinates for the final
stage. The second stage container is rather unique, I have not
seen it in use anywhere, and is guaranteed to bring a smile to your
face. The final is a small camouflaged container with room for
smaller trade items. It contains a pen/pencil, and log book.
This cache is not meant to be a typical lunch-time cache. Quite
the contrary, take it slow and easy, and enjoy the beauty of your
surroundings. Plenty of parking is available right at the
Trailhead. Note that some of the cache attributes are only
available at the parking location and not at the cache site(s).
Round trip hiking distance for this cache is approximately 2.5
miles, but you might wish to extend your hike to pick up some of
the other excellent well placed caches in this park. Please ensure
the coordinate strip vials are returned to their respective
containers, and that the containers are hidden as well or better
than you found them. Thanks and enjoy!

the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you
