This series of caches has been placed to celebrate each Scout Jamboree held in Australia. They have been hidden to coincide with the 24th Australian Jamboree, being held at Catartact Scout Park during January of 2016. (We are delighted to be able to fill in and help finish off this series, hope you enjoy the hide.)
A Jamboree is a gathering of Scouts, Youth Members of the Scout Association aged between 11 and 15. Jamborees are held every 3 years and run for around 10 nights. For many scouts this is an eagerly awaited event on the scouting calendar.
This cache is in the Cataract Dam grounds. Access is restricted to 10am to 5pm daily. Extended hours, 10am to 7pm, on weekends and public holidays and during daylight saving time. Entry is free and No entry is permitted 15 minutes prior to closing time.

The 13th Australian Scout Jamboree was held at Collingwood Park, Ipswich QLD in 1982-83 as part of the 75th anniversary of Scouts of Australia. Twenty countries were involved.
Collingwood Park and its surrounds are within the catchment area identified as the Six Mile, Woogaroo and Goodna Creek (SWAG).
