Hampshire Monthly Midweek Cache Event #14 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

PetersfieldPoodlePosse: It has now been a week since the meet so time to archive this one.

Thanks to everyone who made it along for making it a very enjoyable evening. Forty three individuals or teams have posted that they attended, it certainly felt like there were a lot of us in what I thought was a large space, not sure of this is a record for the Hampshire Monthly Midweek Meets but a resounding success none the less.

See you next month

Geocache Description:

Wednesday 10th February 2010

The White Hart
20 College Street
Petersfield
Hampshire
GU31 4AD

Your host for the evening will be Darren of the PetersfieldPoodlePosse who will be in attendance from about 1830 (South West Trains permitting!).

Traditional pub food is available - click here to see the menu. Please order by mailing me via my profile by midnight on Sunday 31st January.

The White Hart is located on the one way system in the historical heart of Petersfield and backs onto the central (Waitrose) car park so plenty of parking available, and there are a number of caches in the local area.

It occured to me that not everyone may know how to get to the Waitrose car park, so here are some directions:

If coming from the west once you have gone over the railway crossing take the fifth turn on the right into Winton Road.

If coming from the east or south join the Tor Way one way system, go past The White Hart on your left and take the second left into Barham Road (first left immediately next to pub is no entry) and then at the end left into Winton Road.

Once in Winton Road head into the central car park, turning left and then come all the way to the eastern end of the car park where you will be at the back of the pub.

I have spoken with the manageress Viv and have secured the conservatory dining area for our use for the evening which has more than enough tables as well as garden access (if the weather is a bit warmer!).

There is a traditional menu of main meals available priced between £7 and £9 and Viv will need food orders at the end of January.Menu available here; the pub does not yet have e-mail so I need final food orders by e-mail by midnight Sunday 31st January please so I can collate and pass to Viv.

As is now traditional there will be a raffle, and the red ammo box will be available for swapping and discovering Geocoins and Travel Bugs.

I have also had news from Explorer Olway that the Scottish MEGA Event Committee have sent us some Geocoins in recognition of our donation (from previous Hampshire Midweek Montly Meet raffles) to their fundraising. A big thankyou to the Mega Committee for their generosity. The coins they have sent will be raffled at this event.

Latest News - 19th January; further Mega Scotland goodies received by ExplorerOlway which he will bring along on the night.

If you have not been to an event cache and would like to experience something different and have the chance to meet other cachers and swap/discover trackables and your caching stories, please come along. All are welcome, we look forward to seeing you.

If you enjoy attending caching events check out this new site maintained by BaSHful which lists all the events in the South East.
