Geocache Description:

Runyon Canyon Park is another fun place for the geo-people and geo-dogs out there. Last stretch of the climb is strenuous. Take your time and be glad that you need not hold onto a leash.

This cache was adopted in 2004 or 2005 by Tim in Hollywood. It was originally owned by HoundGrrls.

Container was replaced on June 2, 2010, and again in 2014. If someone can replace the container with new, that will be great. A lock-and-lock or plastic jar would be perfect replacements. I won't be able to do so for a while.

The cache is located in a place out of bounds to bicycles and may be a little rough for the very young or out of shape (dogs and humans).

The walk to and from the cache (and at the cache location) offers some great photo opportunities. Posting your photos of the view is strongly encouraged!

A southern start of the official off-leash part is at the coordinates below:

N 34° 06.447 W 118° 20.975

There is a nice view at "Inspiration Point," which is located at the following coordinates. If you go with a group, the faint of heart can wait on the bench there.

N 34° 06.409 W 118° 20.930

No bushwacking required, but long pants are sometimes a good idea. Shorts will likely be OK, too...but you may get a couple small scratches.

Please consider the following when you replace the cache:

Destruction caused by dogs might make the cache not so fun for the next person, but if the cache is put back where it was originally placed, the likelihood of problems is minimal.

- There may be some homeless people living in the park but they won't be anywhere near it. They are not known for desiring strenuous hikes.
