The easiest access will be amphibious. Be sure to wear a PFD when crossing the river in your craft. Watch out for poison oak, rattlesnakes, and cliffs. Best approach is through the old hydraulic mine on deer trails.
The cache was restored and relocated on April 26, 2004. The first cache had been destroyed by bears and/or weather. The new cache is a plastic box containing a novel, an antique penknife, a bottle of Vital Botanicals echinacea herbal extract, a magnifying glass, and a package of mosquito coils. The cache box is partly covered with rocks and is on the ridge overlooking the river. Small rock cairns mark the cache location.
