A series of caches set ready to download for A DAY OUT ON DUNKELD
ESTATE (GC31DWZ) EVENT. Please be fair to others and do not search
for until Sunday 25th September. Dogs welcome in the grounds, but
due to the large amount of Deer on the estate, please keep dogs on
a lead.
A network of muddy stoney paths take you steeply uphill in places
as you head towards Kings seat, the hardest cache in this
series.
King's Seat is the name given to this small hill, said to have the
site of a bronze age fort, rebuilt 2000 years ago by the Picts, to
command this route to the Highlands. It was a safe natural
stronghold known in Pictish times ( 443AD - 843AD) as Dunghaildhum
the name of course, being changed and now given to the village of
Dunkeld.
Please watch out for Quad bikes in this area.
