[風の谷のナウシカ / Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind] was directed by 宮﨑駿 in 1984, adapted from a manga 風の谷のナウシカ. (created by 宮崎駿, too.) The movie only used small parts of original story. So if you want to know the whole plot, the manga is recommended.
After a horrible war, human civilizations were go up in flames. Then, the world was covered by fungus, only some mutation insects and “Ohmu” could live in there. The spore in the air was poisonous to lungs, it killed most of human beings. In the end, people only can live in small parts of Earth.
ナウシカ is a brave and kind princess of the Valley of the wind. She knows how to communicate with Ohmu and the miasma forest by heart. The windy valley is a peaceful land, but it gets threatened by other country’s aggression. The flames of war between countries also irritate a huge group of Ohmu…
