Plenty of route options and rolling hills and lots of tracks, paths and pathlets to choose from. The bridleway along the southern edge of the moor is part of the Coast-to-Coast route. The geology of the area is interesting, with limestone sitting on top of sandstone, which outcrops along the wall near this cache. From the road to the west to Nettle Hill and back is about 6km/4m, and the map pics show a possible route. The caches are small L&L and you will need a pen! Please don't squash swaps in if they are too big. They push the lid up, break the seal, and let water in.
This first cache is near to an old, ruined rock oven. It was used for baking limestone to form lime for building and agricultural use. It is in a sad state, but gives a good view of the internal brick lining. The cache is not in or by the kiln structure. Mind the nettles!
