Questa virtual reward vi darà la possibilità di vedere dall’alto Verona senza muovervi dal centro della città. Per poterlo fare dovrete salire sulla Torre dei Lamberti. Attenzione: l’ingresso è a pagamento; leggete tariffe e agevolazioni.
Per poter salire sulla prima piattaforma (l’unica attualmente accessibile) dovrete salire 368 scalini, oppure prendere l’ascensore, e poi altri 46 scalini per poter ammirare la città a 360 gradi.
Vedere dall’alto Piazza Erbe, l’antico foro romano, dentro i cortili dei palazzi limitrofi, l’Arena, Castelvecchio, i campanili delle chiese quali San Zeno, Sant’Eufemia, il Duomo, Sant’Anastasia, il Monte Baldo, le Torricelle e nelle giornate limpide arriverete con lo sguardo fino ai Colli Berici. Potrete girare lo sguardo e scoprire ad ogni occhiata nuovi scorci di questa bellissima città.
Torre dei Lamberti
La sua costruzione inizia nel 1172 ad opera della famiglia Lamberti da cui prende il nome. Al tempo la Torre era alta 37 metri.
Nel 1403 un fulmine ne fa crollare la cima; nel 1448 iniziano i lavori di restauro ed innalzamento che si concludono nel 1464 con l’aggiunta della cella campanaria ottagonale e fanno della Torre dei Lamberti, con i suoi 84 metri di altezza, l’edificio più alto della città. L’orologio viene infine collocato nel 1779.
Le campane della Torre sono 4 e precisamente: il Rengo, la campana più grande che suonava per convocare il consiglio comunale (Arengo) e per la chiamata in casi di emergenza; la Marangona (dal dialetto marangon ovvero falegname, carpentiere) avvisava in caso di pericolo d’incendi e scandiva le ore della giornata; la Campana delle ore e la Rabbiosa aggiunte alla fine del settecento.
Galleria d’Arte Moderna Achille Forti
Nel biglietto di ingresso alla Torre è compreso (escluso il lunedì) l’ingresso alla Galleria d’Arte Moderna a cui si accede dalla Scala della Ragione, che comprende una sezione permanente nella quale si possono vedere importanti opere pittoriche e scultoree e mostre temporanee di sicuro interesse. Si transita infine dalla Cappella dei Notai ovvero quella che nel 1408 viene assegnata ai Collegio dei Notai come sede e che contiene un sorprendente ciclo decorativo.

Come loggare questa virtual
Pronti per salire ? Come sapete le virtual non hanno un contenitore fisico ma per poterle loggare dovrete:
Fare una foto in cima alla Torre di voi (non è necessario che si veda il vostro viso ) o del vostro GPS con il biglietto di ingresso e la DATA LEGGIBILE e sullo sfondo il panorama di Verona. Quindi nella foto si dovranno vedere 3 cose: voi o GPS + biglietto con data leggibile + panorama sullo sfondo. Infine il log DOVRA’ essere fatto con la stessa data del biglietto.
Qualunque log che non soddisfi tutti i requisiti sopra indicati sarà cancellato senza preavviso
Virtual Reward
Chi mi conosce sa che ho criticato alcune delle virtual pubblicate nel 2018 perché ritenevo che una cache in “edizione limitata” avrebbe dovuto essere particolare, speciale, unica.
Quando mi è arrivata a sorpresa la possibilità di poter pubblicare a mia volta una virtual mi sono reso conto che la cosa non era poi così facile perché ormai con tutte le cache che avevo pubblicato avevo “quasi” esaurito i posti interessanti e speciali che volevo portare a conoscenza degli altri geocacher e non riuscivo ad immaginare un posto così particolare degno di una virtual, né volevo privare Verona di una virtual andando a cercare un luogo da qualche altra parte. Scartati uno alla volta i posti più famosi ed i monumenti più visitati mi sono ritrovato senza un’idea precisa.
Poi, una mattina, l’illuminazione: vedendo dalle statistiche che i geocacher frequentano prevalentemente il centro forse farli salire sulla Torre dei Lamberti, anche se ahimè pagando un biglietto, per vedere Verona dall’alto non era una brutta idea. Da li, fatte le verifiche del caso e salito sulla Torre per ammirare anch’io il panorama, la virtual si è finalmente concretizzata. Starà a voi con i vostri log giudicare se la mia sia stata o meno una buona idea. Buon divertimento, buon geocaching.

Torre dei Lamberti
Its construction began in 1172 by the Lamberti family from which it takes its name. At the time the Tower was 37 meters high.
In 1403 a lightning strike made its top collapse; in 1448 the restoration and raising work began which ended in 1464 with the addition of the octagonal bell cell and made the Torre dei Lamberti, with its 84 meters high, the tallest building in the city. The clock was finally placed in 1779.
There are 4 bells in the tower, namely: the Rengo, the largest bell that rang to call the city council (Arengo) and to call in emergencies; the Marangona (from the dialect marangon or carpenter) warned in case of fire danger and marked the hours of the day; the Hours’s Bell and the Rabbiosa added at the end of the eighteenth century.

The entrance ticket to the Tower includes (excluding Mondays) the entrance to the Modern Art Gallery (access from the Scala della Ragione), which includes a permanent section where you can see important pictorial and sculptural works and temporary exhibitions of sure interest. Finally, you pass through the Notaries' Chapel, that is, the one that in 1408 was assigned to the Collegio dei Notai as headquarters and which contains a surprising decorative cycle.

How to log this virtual
Ready to go up? As you know the virtual caches don’t have a physical container but in order to be able to log them you will need:
Take a photo on top of the Tower of you (it isn't necessary to see your face) or your GPS with the entrance ticket and the READABLE DATE and in the background the panorama of Verona. So in the picture you will have to see 3 things: you or GPS + ticket with legible date + panorama in the background. Finally, the log MUST be done with the same ticket date.
Any log that does not meet all the above requirements will be deleted without notice.
Virtual Reward
Anyone who knows me knows that I have criticized some of the virtual published in 2018 because I believed that a "limited edition" cache should have been particular, special, unique.
When I received the possibility to publish a virtual, I realized that it was not so easy because now with all the caches that I had published I had "almost" sold out the interesting and special places that I wanted to introduce to other geocachers and I could not imagine a new particular place for the virtual; I didn’t want to deprive Verona of a virtual by going to look for a place somewhere else. I discarded one at a time the most famous places and the most visited monuments.
Then, one morning, the lighting: seeing from the statistics that geocachers mainly frequent the center, perhaps getting them to climb the Lamberti Tower, even if, unfortunately, paying a ticket, to see Verona from above was not a bad idea. After the necessary checks and climbed the Tower to admire the panorama too, the virtual finally was materialized. It will be up to you with your logs to judge whether mine was a good idea or not.
