Located in the Pinckney Recreation Area, east of Hell, Michigan.
Park at N42 26.189, W083 58.613 off Patterson Lake Rd.
Follow the main sandy trail away from the parking area through
the pines and cross the bridge over the creek (Portage River)
before turning toward the cache on a faint trail that follows the
creek's bank.
You will eventually come upon Dante's Inferno (a firepit), with
a nice view of the creek from the grassy bank. Continue past the
firepit to the cache. Total distance from the parking area is 0.6
miles.
This area is commonly used by equestrians and hikers, and this
trail system connects to a larger network of horse trails north of
Monks Rd. Hunting is also popular here in season.
We have averaged the coordinates over a 20 minute period of time
with a good fix using an active antenna, so please replace the
cache exactly in the same spot to make it less frustrating for
those who visit after you.
I also found out there happens to be a Letterbox on the same trail. Stamp the book
if you like.

We would also like to thank all those who have cached in and
trashed out. This part of the Pinckney Recreation Area was a pig
sty when we hid the cache last year. In just 12 months the vast
piles of garbage, used picnic implements, tin cans and bottles have
been removed from the firepit and cache location. Thanks to
