Geocache Description:

Small clip-lock container with room for swops.
This cache has been placed above the beautiful fishing village of Port Isaac.

I decided to place this cache when I discovered that there wasn’t one here. It allows you to explore the quaint streets and buildings of this old fishing port of Port Isaac on your way to the cache. There is limited parking, I recommend that you use the pay and display car park at the top of the village where there is less congestion. (N 50.355.688 W 004.49.696) In the off-season there is road-side parking on the main route down into the village.

Port Isaac is the village used in the TV series DOC MARTIN, where it is called PORT WENN. If you visit in the summer it is very congested area and if they are filming there may well be closed streets. The summer of 2016 will be the final time that Port Isaac will be used for filming. In the winter it is a stark, deserted place littered with abandoned second-homes and closed gift shops; although the pub at the top of the harbour stays open.

You can reach the cache from the car park by following the coastal path up the hill, where you will pass the second home used as the doctor's surgery in DOC MARTIN. Go well beyond the wooden bench at the top of the bay. You will be within 150 yards of the cache before you need to leave the path. I hope you enjoy the spectacular views.
