Grant's Vicksburg Campaign, Cache 8 of 11.
Due to the unsuitable sites available for the May 14, 1863 Battle
of Jackson cache, I chose to establish a virtual cache within the
city limits. In this building, the conquering Union troops held a
mock session after the first burning of Jackson. Jackson would be
conquered and burned two more times within the year, hench the
nickname of chimneyville.
If the museum is closed when you visit, check the historical
marker located on State Street/Capitol Street and e-mail to me the
date the marker was forged. This will also give you credit for the
find.
As per virtual cache requirements, please e-mail the answer to me.
"In NO cases should answers be posted in the logs, even if
encrypted." I must "delete any find logs which appear to be bogus,
counterfeit, off topic, or not within the stated requirements."
With that said, after you receive my congratulations, you may take
credit for the find.
