As the event title eludes to, these series of gatherings focus on sharing basic information to those Cacher's who are unfamiliar with some of the additional tools that would assist with their geocaching experience. They are loosely based on the “Lunch & Learn” concept where people come together for a specific purpose and take away something new and learned.
SEATING IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST FIFTEEN PEOPLE TO LOG A "WILL ATTEND"
Along with connecting with others, we thought this would be a great opportunity for cacher’s to share in some basic geocaching functions and tips & tricks to enhance the caching experience. We touched-base with a few Cachers earlier this year and developed a starting list of topics that people seem interested in learning and exploring further; some of these topics are: Mapping (OSM); Pocket Queries (PQ's); GSAK; Projections; Pathtags/Travel Bugs; Tracks; Caching Etiquette; Cache Maintenance; CITO's; TOTT; Etc.
The topic for this afternoon's event wil be on downloading OSM mapping for both GPS and Mapsource. Time permitting we will touch on GSAK by way of download and installation; bring your questions.
The venue, 4521 Dogwood Street, has Wi-Fi capabilities; please feel free to bring your laptop.
