The container is a sterillite lock and lock big enough for some trade items or TBs. I decided not to camo the container so that it could be found fairly easy. It contains the standard log book, pencil/pen and swag. Also a teddy bear travel buddy has also been added. His name is Amore and he has a mission. He may be gone by the time you get there.
Having a compass and knowing how to use it could make finding this cache easier, but you don’t need one. I was in the Army National Guard and enjoyed land nav and map reading classes when we would have them. In those classes we learned how to use a compass read maps and navigate from point A to point B. We would be given an azimuth (direction) to travel and distance in meters. Sometimes we would have several points to navigate to. The coordinates listed are for my dad's grave. To find the cache you need to do a little bit of land nav. After you find the grave; it should say Manis on it. Stand with your heels against the marker. Make sure you are in the centre of the top edge of the marker. Shoot an azimuth of 300 degrees (if you do not have a compass that will be a North West direction). Walk about 37 paces in that direction. That should put you close to where the cache is hidden.
I named the cache Amore’s Cache because I placed in the cache a teddy bear travel buddy named Amore. He will probably be gone by the time most people read this. This teddy bear travel bug is being sent on a mission in memory of Rodana Simon Manis.
Rodana was born Feb 7, 1953 in Puunene, Maui, Hawaii. She graduated from Mount Eden High School in 1972 got married and moved to West Virginia. She passed away March 27, 2006 after a three year battle with lung cancer.
The mission of Amore is to travel to Hayward, CA and hopefully visit Mount Eden High School.
Then if possible go to Puunene on the island of Maui, Hawaii where Rodana was born and then back to Parkersburg WV where she is buried. It would be good if Amore could be placed on her grave after he gets to Parkersburg, WV. Rodana is buried in Sunset Memory Gardens in the Garden of The Three Crosses.
