Geocache Description:

Come out and join us in rejoicing either because the groundhog did or did not see his shadow...depending on your preference for winter weather!  Hike the trails, howl at the moon or just meet up with some of your fellow cachers...newbies and the more experienced!  All are welcome!  This event is a once a year event and we think it is great!  It is the one and only time when hiking the trails and caching is permitted after dark at TWC.  So come on out and join us for snacks and geochatting!

The coords above are for the check-in point which will be in the Buckeye Room on the second floor of the Interpretive Building (IB).  Enter the IB through the main doors, go up the stairs and the Buckeye Room is on your left at the top.  There is also an elevator for handicap access.

THE DETAILS:

WHEN:  Saturday, February 3, 2018.  Check in begins at 5:30PM and everyone must be off the trails by 9PM.

WHERE:  The Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Avenue, Wilmot, OH   44689   330-359-5235

IMPORTANT INFO:  Dress for the weather....snowy, muddy and/or icy trails are par for the course here at TWC.  Children are welcome to attend but anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult while on the trails.  If you plan on doing any night hiking, please remember to bring a flashlight.  There are caches in the area and if you want to find them, bring your gps and a writing instrument.

No reservations are required and ALL cachers...new and more experienced...are welcome to join us.  Hot chocolate, coffee and water will be provided.  Donations of cookies/brownies/finger foods to share are welcome and very much appreciated!  There will be a 50/50 drawing to help offset the expenses and we will have door prizes!  When you are done hiking the trails, please feel free to come back to the IB and join us for refreshments.

If the weather cooperates, the members of the Astronomy Club will have the Observatory open and telescopes set up for all who wish to view the winter skies!  This has been a high point of the event in years past.

Absolutely no pets, alcohol or firearms at the event!  TWC rules.  For more info or questions, please e-mail Rita at axetowax@yahoo.com
