One of the most famous people to be born in Kings Lynn... Queen drummer Roger Taylor was born in Lynn on 26’th July 1949.
He 1st lived in the town centre before his family moved to Beulah Street (the street wher this cache is placed) and then later they moved to Truro in Cornwall
Along with guitarist Brain May he is the only other member of Queen still performing with the band. He has co-written 3 uk no1 singles (Under Pressure, Innuendo & These Are The Days Of Our Lives).
As well as being a member of Queen since they formed in 1970, he was in the pre-Queen band Smile (with Brian May & Tim Staffell. He formed his own band The Cross in 1987 and recorded 3 albums with them until they split up in 1993. He has also had a prolific solo career starting with the single “I Wanna Testify” in 1977, and went on to release 5 solo album and 1 box set that included all his solo work and work with The Cross
A little known fact about Roger is he was the 1st non-royal living person to appear on a UK postage stamp when a picture of Freddie Mercury was used for one but he was left in the background of the picture
