Kaķu bedrīšakmens

Līdz mūsdienām ir saglabājušās teikas un pieraksti, kas vēsta par piekoptajiem rituāliem senajās svētvietās, piemēram, ziedošana, dabas godināšana atbilstoši saules gadskārtām, uguns un mirušo kults.
Kaķu bedrīšakmens, visticamāk, savu nosaukumu guvis no tuvējām Kaķu mājām, un tas var lepoties ar iespaidīgiem izmēriem: garums 3,25m, platums 3m, apkārtmērs 11,8m, virszemes tilpums ap 6m2. No citiem dižakmeņiem šis atšķiras ar virsmā iedobtajām aptuveni 80 bedrītēm, kuru dziļums ir 3–10 cm. Gar akmens Rītu malu visā garumā iekalta 6-8 cm dziļa un tikpat plata rene. Tieši iekaltās bedrītes un rene ir liecības, kas norāda uz akmens iespējamo sakrālo vēsturi.

Kaķi Cup-Marked Stone
Throughout all times, people have been enticed by the mysterious and the unfathomable. Ancient sacred sites are surrounded by myths and legends allowing a contemporary person to have a look into the history. Legends and notes afre telling about the rituals performed at the ancient sacred sites, for instance, donation rituals, honouring of nature according to the annual course of the Sun, the cult of fire and the deceased, have remained until nowadays.
The Kaķi Cup-Marked Stone, most likely, has gained its name from the nearby homestead. The stone is special with its impressive dimensions: length 3,25m, width 3m, circumference 11,8m, overground volume about 6m2. It differs from other monumental stones with its 80 cup marks carved on its surface, with the depth of 3-10 cm. Along the East side of the stone there is carved a 6-8sm deep and the same width groove. The cup marks and the groove point to the possible sacral history of the stone.
