Geocache Description:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The year was 1657 when Captain Bass left the Caribbean and sought temporary refuge in what is now the United States of America.

Upon reaching port he strongly feared he had been followed. Worried that England had sent a vessel to carry out his execution, he continued to move inland in search of a secure place to hide both him and his treasure. This panic consumed him to the point where he soon found himself in present day Illinois.

No one is really sure what happened to the captain. The only known fact is the general vicinity of his treasure, which he marked on the above map.

To find the loot you must dock your ship near N 41° 08.720 W 087° 52.790 and follow the paved path to the geotrail marked on the above map. From that juction project a distance of 227.42 meters at a bearing of 265.33°. Sounds easy enough!.. Right? Well! That depends on the path you choose to get to GZ. **Cache contains a stamp and ink pad as this is a letterbox. Bring bug spray. And please don't add any clues to your log!
Congrats to CanisMinor and spierson82 on the Co-FTF!

Good luck Mateys!
