Geocache Description:

East Sooke Trail, Iron Mine Bay end

NOTE:Adopted by Ickster 21 Sep 07. My thanks to Plantman
for letting us keep this "old-timer" cache running. In the
description below, it's interesting to see how the "travelling
pet-rock" moved around prior to the implementation of Travel
Bugs.

A 1 litre ice cream container covered in debris
at the base of a scrubby multi-trunked Arbutus bush or small tree
at about 100 feet elevation.
An excellent cliff-side viewpoint and picnic site.
"A straight compass line may be the shortest and quickest way
for a crow (Corvus caurinus) to get from A to B; this is not
generally true for a man (Homo sapiens) on the ground in rough
terrain!".
Saturday May 18, 2002. Annual maintenance check. Can't find it
anywhere on the site. Assume it is lost or vandalized. I will
replace it shortly. Checked coordinates and they are still right
on.
Monday May 20, 2002, Noon. Replaced the cache 6 feet further
north well under a big rock. Note small change in coordinates to
reflect this short move. Hid it from casual view with branches and
twigs.
