In 1865, the song and drama society "Estonia" was founded in Tallinn.
Play-acting was taken up in 1871. The following theatre activites were relatively haphazard, theatre as the tradition really came into being in 1895, when the society began to direct song plays, folk plays and comedies, usually with singing and dancing; however, the start of the XX century already saw more serious drama on the stage.
One day I walked in town. Suddenly I heard on above mentioned coordinates a weird conversation. I stopped and listened. I tried to follow this conversation as well I could.

This conversation continued and company variegated more. A feeble old person walked with his grandchild M towards the chatting. His youth belonged to the golden era, if his age divides three times and the result is rounded up to integer. 1865. aastal asutati Tallinnas laulu ja mängu selts "Estonia".
Näitemänguga alustati selles 1871. aastal. Edasine teatritegemine oli suhteliselt juhuslik, teatritegemisest kui traditsioonist võib rääkida alles alates 1895. aastast, mil seltsis hakati lavastama laulumänge, rahvatükke, naljamänge, enamasti laulu ja tantsuga; XX sajandi algul jõudis lavale aga juba tõsisem draama. Ühel päeval jalutasin linnas kui sattusin peale ülal toodud koordinaatidel ühele kummalisele vestlusele.
Seisis Härra X seina vahtides. Imestas ja mõtles valju häälega: “Armas, kus sul on vanust!”. Minul vaid 29 aastat vähem (-), kuid seda on juba palju. Samas, ainult natuke vähem kui pool sinu oma... Tema noorus jääb kuldaega, kui vanust kolm korda vähendada ja tulemus ülespoole ümardada täisarvuni. Ätt sekkub mõtlikult vestlusse “Jaa, maja hakati taastama kohe peale sõda. Kas sina nooruk tead, mis aastal E maja pommitati? Vastust oodates jätkab “Ehitad mõned aastaid, sinna juurde taastad-laiendad aastad” kordab saadud summat nagu papagoi Gg veel üksteist korda, et kõigile ikka meelde jääks ning pomiseb veel midagi omaette. Tegelastele lisandus vestluse käigus viies inimene – tasane neiu N. Koos arutleti veel tükk aega numbrite 59 X,QM ja 24 E,GgN üle, kuni edasi suundus igaüks sinna, kuhu pea jalgu juhtis. Edu!
