Series Description :
To acknowledge the reliance we Geocachers have on technology, a personal love of mine, and the WWW acronym of this series commemorating my move to the west of Witney, each one has been named after a particular Geocaching website that we find useful, interesting or informative.
Series Info:
A series of traditional caches in a walk approximately three miles long and which should take about two and a half hours to complete. There are twelve caches in this series in total, starting from and returning to the parking opposite the Canon Pool Service Station on Hailey Road where any refreshments needed before or after the walk can be found.
The series is almost entirely flat and uses fairly well marked Public Footpaths some of which you will see are ancient roads. Should be okay for dog cachers but there are a few styles you will have to carry your pet over and for that reason I’m afraid isn’t buggy or disability friendly. It is a great family walk out for little cachers too though and although there are some fields with horses in they showed no interest in us.
The route takes you into the villages and there are a couple of bits by the road but there are footpaths alongside at each point - please take care but it is safe.
This Cache:
earthcache.org - EarthCaches are a type of Geocache that are listed on Geocaching.com. They use additional guidelines when developed so that they provide a unique experience - a learning experience about Earth science. An EarthCache site is a special place that people can visit to learn about a unique geoscience feature or aspect of our Earth
This is the fourth in the series and is a clear four inch circular plastic clip-lock container in a camouflage bag that contains a logbook and pen, some goodies and, on release, a new Travel Bug.
Also between #4 and #7 it can be VERY wet, almost like a stream at times, so if it's been raining recently you may need wellingtons!
After this cache walk straight on until you reach the ‘T’ in the path and turn left. You will see you are on an ancient road, but I suspect this may get rather wet at times.
