Visiting Denver from South-America (NO! not Texas, much further south...) for about two-weeks, I am looking forward to meet with some local cachers. It is my fourth stay in Colorado, but the first trip being a real geocacher. I did find about 20 caches on my last visit in February 2015, but that was before we even got our first GPS.
Since today will be my name day, I think it is time to celebrate with a hot dog or two... and Downtown Denver definitely has my favourite place when it comes to this food. Even better, they serve non-standard dogs with unusual toppings, including CreamCheese and of course local cachers should keep an eye on the establishment's owner, since Biker Jim is plotting for hot dog domination! Competition or even danger for Crypto? Furons beware!!! High time to check it out!
Concerning the attributes I chose for this event cache: There is definitely no need to bring your dogs, as they (the staff) do have their own ones, and plenty of them. Moreover the chef seems to be not only a biker, but also a bit of a hunter which is probably why you can find rattlesnakes or other wild animals (boar, elk, reindeer, pheasant etc.) on the dog-menu. Allow extra time to find parking or (even better) use public transport.
What: Meet and greet and eat
When: Thursday September 29th, 7:00pm-8:30pm
Where: Biker Jim's, 2148 Larimer street, Downtown Denver (see posted coords)
Why: Just because it is fun to meet other geocachers far from home
What to bring: Appetite for some special dogs - yes, they even have vegan ones - time to chat and of course your trackables to discover or exchange.
