Caching Clue Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

DresselDragons: We hoped to get this back up and running, but too many missing pieces and too many landscape changes. Decided it would be better to archive and hide a new cache. For those who were wondering...it was Col. Mustard with the Ammo Can hiding a Micro.

Geocache Description:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Mr. Body invited Miss Scarlet, Prof. Plum, Mrs. White, Col. Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, and Mr. Green to find his geocache, promising a grand reward for the FTF. The 6 guests accepted, each hoping for their own glory, and were given the starting coordinates. Mr. Body asked each to wait until the cache was approved and posted on the geocaching website before starting the search. A webcam, placed by Mr. Body near the cache site, recorded someone removing the cache from its original hiding spot before the cache was approved. Unfortunately, the thief was unidentifiable in the tape. Mr. Body has hired you to determine the thief’s identity and their plans for the cache. You must find each suspect’s identity, their favorite cache type and which caching tool they possess. Print a Caching Clue Checklist (see image below) to assist you in your investigation. Each stage will take you to a meeting spot to interview one of the suspects; you begin your investigation by meeting your first suspect at the coordinates listed above. Upon determination of the suspect, tool and cache type, you may then use the information on your checklist to calculate the coordinates for the final stage using the following formula:

N 40 AB. CAD W 080 CB.EDF

Where:
A = Tool
B = Type – Tool + Suspect
C = Type - Type
D = Suspect
E = Suspect + Type
F = Type + Tool

Please note…this multi-stage cache is solved just like the board game clue. You record the names, tools and caches that you find at each stage on the checklist. The name/tool/cache that you DO NOT find will be used to solve for the final coords. Do NOT take the cards from the stages, record the information on your checklist. There are 5 stages for this cache, and the final.

Several words of advise:

Parking is available in a couple spots; one will put you very close to your first suspect. However, this is not the safest place to park. We recommend that you park here: N 40° 17.961, W 080° 9.055.

This section of the Montour Trail crosses Georgetown Road. There is no bridge here. Please use caution while crossing the road.

One of the suspects will give you two sets of coordinates. One is for the next suspect, and one is for a nearby point-of-interest. Return to the main trail to approach this spot. There is no cache hidden at the “point-of-interest”. Please do not search for anything here, and obey the posted signs.

If you park at the recommended parking coords and visit the point-of-interest, this excursion is a 2.5 mile walk.

All stages are lock-n-lock containers, except Stage 4 and the final. Please leave the clue cards for the next cacher.

DON'T forget your checklist!

ATTENTION: one of the suspects tried to escape! Please adjust your coordinated retreived from stage 3 (to find stage 4) by SUBTRACTING 0.012 from the latitude and 0.022 from the longitude to find stage 4. br />
